According to the report of public relations of IMIDRO, Mehdi Karbasian expressed that extraction of 400 million tons minerals in next years is among our plans which requires machinery supply .Government and private sector are cooperating to achieve this goal.
During the first eight months of the current Iranian year (21 March-21 November),we exported 527 thousand tons of sponge iron and also 5 million and 800 thousand tons in steel chain which it is predicted to be increased to 8 million tons, he added.
Karbasian noted that Neiriz DRI plant, Sabzevar DRI plant and Opal Parsian pelletizing plant will be operated in near future.
He continued that Jajarm Aluminum project with production capacity of 40 thousand tons ingot and South Aluminum project with production capacity of 300 thousand tons will be inaugurated in next Iranian year.
Karbasian noted the employment of 45 thousand persons by IMIDRO in past years and said that in exploration 45 thousand kilometers in 15 promising zones will be assigned to private sector in next 2 weeks. Also, tender will be held for exploration of 13 zones by the year end.
He expressed that a new iron ore reserves was explored in a mining zone in Yazd province with 1600 and 2000 meters drilling which is equal to all country’s iron ore reserves.
